Seeing women’s profound impact on #hiphop FINALLY recognized was great, but painful to see more of the many ways #women were abused/subjugated. I grew up in Greenwich Village in #NYC in the late 70s & 80s so hip-hop was was very much a love of my life #ErykahBadu. But I hated the constant misogyny. I’d like to see what repair comes from acknowledging that past. Ex. I know #DrDre apologized to #DeeBarnes but did he try to fix the career damage he caused?
