Just added to Bills to Budget - Financial Explorer mode, designed to shorten the learning curve for users who are new to the app, and to give an early sneak peek at features from the Plus subscription.
Inspired by @malin and @kaidombrowski talk from #DeepDishSwift!

I've spent altogether too much time in Xcode while automating my screenshots, but it will help things move more quickly in the future, plus I've made some improvements that will help accessibility (not where it should be yet, but steps in the right direction!)
But now it's time to take the Deep Dish Swift advice, and close Xcode, and actually get the screenshots right. Hopefully will have this build Waiting for Review by end of day 🤞
Another chicago trip done. I had originally planned to show up in early May to get #deepdishswift in too but changed to later to attend my niece and nephew’s high school graduation. It was a good choice.
My first conference talk is now posted! Lots of room for improvement but it just hypes me up to refine it for next time.

I made an app wall slide in SwiftUI/DeckUI for the first day of #DeepDishSwift. Just threw the code up on GitHub for anyone interested 🙂
Made it home safe from #DeepDishSwift. So much to digest. Can’t wait for next year!
Almost home from #DeepDishSwift, currently in the Taipei airport waiting for my flight to Osaka.
It really blew past all my expectations. I made new friends, got to meet friends I've known only online since the pandemic, got a bunch of things to go home and implement in Nihongo... Such a warm and friendly community. Can't wait for next year!
@mattiem I need to do some research still, but you got me thinking about a hard-to-reproduce bug in Signals that I occasionally get feedback about - up to now, I’ve assumed it was a weirdness in HomeKit, but now I’m wondering if it isn’t the ordering problem with concurrency that you were describing at #DeepDishSwift
I found the article on your blog - did you do a conference talk on this as well, or is that something coming up in the future?
Back from #DeepDishSwift and returning to the grind, fighting some arrays, and suddenly I remember @dvrzan's talk on algorithms. chunked(by: {}) FTW! Thanks, Danijela!

Clubbing with @tundsdev means ending up at a club that only plays Spanish music #DeepDishSwift
Just a short demo for Söka. This is pretty much the flow I shared with folks at #DeepDishSwift
Still amazed how #deepdishswift could be both be a conference ostensibly about a computer language but be this gathering of the warmest, friendly, authentic, and conscientious people imaginable, who when I showed them my first little app that just made a Polaroid looking effect, were nothing but generous. I knew the iOS community online, but am still amazed at how they consistently were like this in person.
This was my first test, my dog wondering if I was serious that I’d be gone for 5 days.
“How was the @DeepDishSwift conference?”
“You know how Gohan gets his potential unlocked in DBZ? Felt sort of like that.” #iosdev #deepdishswift
Here’s another observation: most of the people I met at #DeepDishSwift had a #Mastodon account. Sure, there are still a few Twitter holdouts but the overall trend is clear. I like that a lot 👍🏼
Had Malört for the first time at #DeepDishSwift
Heard it described as:
1) “Hot hairspray with a grapefruit finish”
2) "Licking a dirty seatbelt”
Both are basically right.
I realized that I had gotten a bit cynical in recent years about the state of iOS development & indie work. I've been in a bit of a rut.
After Deep Dish, I'm so energized and engaged, I have a renewed love for the community and I can't thank @joshdholtz and everyone else that was a part of the conference enough. Attendees included, of course!
Arrived back in my hometown in Germany 🇩🇪. What a great week and conference it was! Feeling exhausted but it was great meeting so many new faces @DeepDishSwift and learning about so many things!
From all the toots in my timeline about #DeepDishSwift, it looks like a super-successful event with happy attendees.
Congratulations @joshdholtz! Hope to see more of this and someday attend one.
