I've always been a great fan of surrealism and dada, and especially in the case of dada, the entire movement has always been opposed to the cult of the artist and the meaning of art, striving to create silly and meaningless works, experimenting with mechanical means of image production even a hundred years ago when it began. I have been rendering weird machine hallucinations ever since #DeepDream and #DeepStyle aka #NeuralStyleTransfer appeared in the mid-10s, and I keep all of my tens of thousands of generated images in a folder labelled, "elektrodada".

I'm using complex text prompts that don't even mention an artistic style.
I use words like ethereal, hypnotic, intricate details, hot pink.... etc.
I'm not pleased with the idea of AI art, but as a person who does art for a living, I feel like it's impossible to stop now, so I feel a need to investigate it & learn it.

So, 5 attempts on DeepDream... keeping in mind I didn't change much here. But that ate up 20 credits. I changed a few of these to their "fantasy" model.
But anyway.... DeepDream spidercat attempts.
Now, over time 20 free credits will regenerate for you. But it doesn't last long.

So my spider cat mutant was kind of fun yesterday. The free bot made a cool dude. But then I thought "What if I run that image through DeepDream with the same prompt?"

This time I used a free Discord bot to create a base image (aiimagegenerator.art).
Then I used Deep Dream Generator with that original image as a model to create this little devil cat.

We recently tested how the Ganzflicker experience, a method to elicit visual pseudo-hallucinations, impacts divergent thinking. It did exactly the opposite!
I guess the jury is still out on this hallucination-creativity connection.
