Why are shrimp 95% meat?! They don't need that much muscle. They aren't outrunning or fighting off anything: their predators swallow them whole by the thousands! Who bred shrimp to be self-replicating lumps of food?

Despite the American military destroying some of their Pacific and north Atlantic outposts in the first half of the twentieth century, the have rebuilt, relocated or expanded their aquatic settlements over the following decades.
