By accident rather than design I ended up watching DS9 Past Tense on the pre-anniversary (?) of the events imagined.
It's so poignant and powerful, and deeply sad. When it first aired, it seemed like such an unlikely and dystopian story.

This book is really amazing, and has reintroduced me to a world of critical theory that nearly bored me to death in grad school. I found it to be surprisingly accessible. It articulates really well things I had always kind of assumed about DS9 that I couldn't quite put to words. It was also instrumental in resolving some of the problems I was having with the plot of the novel I'm writing. It's definitely worth picking up! #startrek #deepspace9

I found the fresh take with lots of #gender swaps & no sexual shenanigans between a male & female lead refreshing.

Procedural, occasionally formulaic, but lots of serial plots, just a good watch for murder mystery fans. No Agatha Christie, but solid.

At this rate, we’ll watch 2020s shows by the 2040s!
