Um die Minuten bis zum Eintreffen der Helfer zu überbrücken, braucht es die Herzdruckmassage. Es ist am wahrscheinlichsten, dass man in einer Notsituation jemandem aus seinem engsten Umfeld helfen muss. Ersthelfer wird man selten bei einem Verkehrsunfall, sondern eher in der eigenen Küche.

Es behandelt Kammerflimmern, also eine akut lebensgefährliche Herzrhythmusstörung, mit der Hilfe von Stromstößen. Diese Defibrillatoren sind immer häufiger zum Beispiel in öffentlichen Gebäuden, Firmen, Vereinsheimen und auf Bahnhöfen zu finden. In ihrer Anwendung sind sie selbsterklärend, damit jeder sie im Notfall nutzen kann.

One of mine.

The UK is dotted with public access defibrillators, all paid for by local individuals, charities, or companies. They are not officially provided. But you are rarely more than a 2 minute walk from one.

This one is on the wall of the local supermarket.

Last week I checked a #defibrillator (modle in picture) where the indicator for bad pads and the battery indicator was shwoing low battery. So I pressed the "info" button. Nothing happened. I held it down and suddenly I am inn administrator mode. Ops.

You can also get some software for these. I never used it so not entierly sure how it works. Its one a usb drive that came in a blu-ray like case. Cost about €100.
