Wildcat was a Schwarzkopf wildcat model that operated at @cedarpoint from 1979 to 2011. Only 50 feet tall, the coaster still managed to reach speeds of 40MPH.

She was removed in 2011 to make way for a park redesign. Today, part of Valravn sits on the former site of Wildcat

The Jack N' Jill Scenic roller coaster operated at Seabreeze Amusement Park in Rochester NY. Opening in 192, she cost $45,000 USD to construct. ($712,000 USD adjusted for inflation)

The ride only operated, burning down in 1930. The park decided not to rebuild it.

Only 2 days until our next episode premieres! It's a tall tale of a doomer roller coaster that somehow managed to survive several decades despite lawsuits, bad design, and significant forced redesigns.

It's also maybe one of our favorite episodes we've ever researched/recorded for you. You'll want to give this one a listen, we promise!

Rocket is a defunct wooden roller coaster that operated at Ocean View Amusement Park in Norfolk, Virginia from 1929 until the park's closure in 1978.

The ride was originally designed by Ed Vettel with further reworking of the track and layout by Herb Schmeck.

This is one of those roller coasters you wish hadn't been lost to history.

Giant Coaster at the now defunct Paragon Park in Massachusetts. The park was open from 1905 to 1984.

Giant Coaster was relocated to @SixFlags America after the parks closure and continues to operate today as Wild One. Originally built in 1917 by John A. Miller and Herbert Schmeck, Wild One is the oldest roller coaster in the Six Flags chain.

Bergbana was a side friction roller coaster that operated in Grรถna Land in Stockholm from 1931 to 1965. The track supports were wrapped on sections of the ride to give the ride the illusion of a more permanent structure.

Would you wrap any coasters today to harken back to a time prior to the 1940s when this was fairly common practice?

Screamin' Delta Demon was a steel bobsled coaster that operated at Opryland USA from 1984 until the park's closure in 1997.

The bobsled was one of the first Intamin bobsled coasters to be manufactured. Unlike the few remaining bobsled coasters that still operate today, Screamin' Delta Demon had small trains that could fit 3-6 people depending on configuration and size.

16. Disaster Transport - @cedarpoint

This ride had everything! A fun and quirky queue. An indoor bobsled coaster that had to close when it rained. A beachfront location on the shores of Lake Erie. Why did this have to close again?

Disaster Transport is still a fan favorite today because it was unique and fun and never tried too hard. I love goofy roller coasters, and that's why DT still makes the list.

XLR-8 was a suspended roller coaster designed by that operated at @SixFlags from 1984 until the park closed in 2005. For most of its life the track/train was painted a blue and grey combo, but for its final year of operation XLR-8 had a yellow and blue color combination.

The Dragon is a defunct roller coaster that operated at Ocean Park in from 1984 until 2021. You can just feel your head slamming off those OTS restraints, can't you?

This ride went through several paint jobs over the years. The best might be the absolute kaleidoscope of a paint job it received in its final years.

at @CAGreatAmerica is the perfect example of "right coaster, wrong time."

Opened in 2000, this Flying Dutchman lasted only 4 seasons at the park before closing in September 2003 to make room for the new water park.

Luckily, she still rides today, 3000 miles away - you may know her now as Nighthawk at .

21. Big Bad Wolf - Busch Gardens Williamsburg

It is a travesty these suspended swinging coasters have not made a comeback yet. They're absolutely magical, and BBW was my first experience whipping up and around the banked turns.

I love Vortex at @WonderlandNews too, but this classic at @BuschGardensVA is too good not to rank it.

22. Volcano - @KingsDominionVA

Another coaster that is near and dear to my heart. My first launch coaster that I rode in 2003. I was instantly hooked on the idea of launch starts, and still seek them out everywhere. It was heartbreaking to see this one torn down.
