Had numbness in one hand off and on for a few months after twisting my back on a new mattress (which has been replaced). No family doctor.
Went into a walk-in clinic, they ordered a neck x-ray. Just saw the results on a patient web portal: there is *possibly* a mild compression fracture in vertebrae C6 in my neck.
Well, the walk-in clinic isn't taking walk-ins until Monday...
Not sure what to do with this information in the meantime. I'm not a doctor.
Waiting to see if I have disc degeneration above an old scoliosis spine fusion. I've had hand numbness in the mornings off and on for a few months. My theory: compressed nerve at the spine, radiating into the hand.
Doctor's theory: carpal tunnel syndrome. Which doesn't make sense to me, I don't think it's a repetitive strain injury. Also, doesn't CTS affect the thumb and index finger? The numbness is on my pinky side of the hand.
Got a wrist brace.
