Another batch of Chinese salted plums, being dehydrated in the sunshine. This is last of the Japanese sour plum harvest batch. I will have my last smaller batch of yellow plums to dehydrate & preserve next week.

#dehydratedfood turkey bacon was (probably) created as a penance for mankind- at least when fried like bacon.
Put it in the dehydrator! No other seasonings needed! Try to find reduced salt if you can, it's a bit healthier and makes no taste difference.
Dry it at 150 f for about 8 hours. It is sliced pretty thin, and comes out with the texture of kettle cooked chips, and they taste quite like bacon. They are quite addicting, and despite my best intentions, they don't last long.
I'm starting #dehydratedfood. I've had a dehydrator for a year and a half, and had a lot of fun using it. I'd like to find others interested in it.
I'll start with this:
Dried apples with a twist. Soak apple slices in frozen fruit juice concentrate, mixed with a little water, overnight before drying. I like to use lemonade.
Dry at about 120 f till dry. Then, if you like them crispy, crank up to 160 f for 2-4 hours.
