When I had the chance to interview Dr. Peniel Joseph, a history professor at UTAustin, I asked him if SB17, the law banning #DEI initiatives, made him consider leaving Texas. While DEI is advocated in the #workplace, its roots must also be firmly planted in #education. Deep-seated biases, often formed early, can become almost immutable if not addressed young.
Research shows exposure to diverse perspectives, not only shape attitudes, behaviors, & biases in adulthood but also foster more tolerant & open-minded attitudes when inclusivity is taught from a young age.
