My paper "Anthony Collins' Non-Vindication of the Divine Attributes" has been accepted at Journal of Theological Studies.

I know that I believe in you under the principles of #Deism, as the creator of the #Universe, but also believe that you do not directly intervene in it.

Additionally, he says this kind of 'abuse' mostly happens in religion. Toland's argument could be read as expanding on this section.

This can't be Locke's considered view, b/c he holds that our idea of substance is obscure & confused, & he doubles down on this to Stillingfleet, but clearly he doesn't think 'substance' is meaningless! Definitely a problem here. /END
