It's been a big #problem for years, though it's getting #worse. The #Gmail / Outlook-Hotmail-Office365 / Yahoo triumvirate have backroom deals so they don't have #deliverability issues to each other. But the small guys have trouble delivering to them - particularly Gmail.

I've run my own mail server for going on 25 years now. For the last 15 years it's had the same IP. Strict #SPF & #DMARC, correct #DKIM & #DNS. Zero #spam. And I still have deliverability problems.

With all the talk of image pre-fetching at Gmail, Yahoo and through and Apple MPP we've mostly ignored Microsoft consumer mail domains. Today I logged into one of my old-enough-to-vote Hotmail accounts. Last time I was in there I noticed there seemed to be no way to turn off image loading. Today I discovered there is a way, but it's hidden 2 layers down in the "junk mail" option. (A thread) #Deliverability #EmailMarketing

I host my own #email on a cheap (<$10/mo) VPS.

Technically, I deployed postfix with the default configuration, published #SPF records and sign with #DKIM.

I am an email expert, but the only experty things I did were to not host on a provider like OVH that seems to specialize in hosting spammers, not to allow my users to send spam, nor to forward spam.

That's all. And my #deliverability is just fine, with no particular effort involved.

Think I may have fixed this one with adding an IPv6 #PTR record and updating #SPF.

"not RFC 5322 compliant the issue is duplicate headers. To reduce the amount of span sent to Gmail"

I am Martin, I am German-born, now living in Poland. I've been in #deliverability and #email for over 7 years. I've worked with senders on their campaigns, I've kept my hands on MTA's configurations (love it!), DNS, and did a whole bunch of compliance stuff as well.

I help ensure mass quantities of (requested) email gets delivered, I work to educate marketers on how to be good stewards of email and messaging, and I generally try to make the email ecosystem a better place.

ok, speaking of #introduction I am Alberto, Italian, working for an Email Service Provider as Head of #Deliverability & #Compliance.

I am proud of what I do because I really love #email and my mission is to keep #trust alive in the email ecosystem, not only by fighting #spam but also by educating customers on industry's best practices.

I firmly consider email as the best communication channel for either personal, transactional or promotional messages and I'll do my best to keep it clean!

Looks like I didn't do a #introduction here. I'm Laura Atkins, I do #email and #deliverability and have done for way, way too long. I got into this 'cause I really hate #spam and thought I could be the carrot end to the blocklist stick and fight spam in my own way. I want to make email better and more useful.
