Esto es a modo de catarsis, porque me acaba de pasar que me vinieron a traer una máquina de hacer pan que compramos en mercadolibre. Lo compramos hoy y tenía envío gratis y decía que venía en el día y que hasta las 21hs repartían. A las 21 calculé que no venían, dado que vivo en El Pinar y este comercio seguramente está en Mdeo y siempre dejan para lo último los envíos más lejos, todo bien. A las 21:05 me llama el delivery, que estaba llegando y si podía salir a la puerta, hasta ahi genial. Salgo, y viene en una moto, el tipo todo abrigado. Llega y cuando estaciona al lado mío, venía con un nenito que no tendría más de 3 años, paradito en el medio de la moto, durito y agarradito del manubrio. Me quedé absolutamente helado. El tipo de mió la panera, me preguntó la cédula y todo rápido, me saludó y se fue. Yo me quedé sin habla, viendo como se iba y pensando que no había traído la billetera para por lo menos darle una propina con un billete de 100 que cuidé hoy de no gastar. Entré, dejé el paquete y luego de decirle a sabri, empecé a maquinar, que tendría que haberle ofrecido por si el nene no quería ir al baño o algo, darle algo para comer o tomar, pensaba si había algo... no se, entré a mojarme la cara, salgo del baño y sabri me mira y no pude más, me puse a llorar de angustia y rabia. No puede ser que en este mundo de mierda, las aplicaciones de mierda generen ese nivel de precariedad laboral, ese niño durito de frío, trabajador, ayudando a su padre, debería estar en su casa jugando, tomando la leche calentita, no se, también con su padre. Miraba a mis hijos calentitos con la estufa, en nuestra casa y ta, me superó. Mi hija e hijo más chicos me vinieron a abrazar y a "llorar conmigo" (ellos lloran porque te ven llorar a vos, preguntaban que había pasado...) y hablamos del tema. Me agarró absolutamente desprevenido, siempre venía alguien en un auto, por lo general. Yo cuando era bebé, mis viejos me llevaban en un bolso agarrado con una mano, y con la otra agarrados del caño del bondy y abajo del sobaco del brazo con el que agarraban el bolso donde yo iba, tenían un disco duro de 5MB redondo de 45cm de diámetro que lo llevaban a la facultad para compilar el COBOL, esa realidad no fue ajena de chico y no me fue ajena con mis propios hijos, cuando caminaba desde Goes a Molinos de Raffo para dar clase a un grupo porque no tenía guita para el boleto y cuando iba a pasar las 14hs de noche en el observatorio me compraba un porteño de pan y eso era lo que comía, pero verlo en frío, me afecta, me angustia y me interpela. Le escribí al tipo que me diera algo, cedula, prex o algo para que yo le pueda girar la propina, y luego de 2 o 3 mensajes, me pasó. Que mierda que es el mundo. As I understand it, Chicago ALREADY HAD a tunnel system for deliveries. But it fell out of use in the 1950s or so, and they started letting trucks deliver right to doorways. Traffic is far worse now, so the deliveries park in moving traffic lanes. That would seem to also be unsafe for the driver.

When the #Chicago tunnels flooded in the 1990s, we were all reminded the delivery #tunnels were there. Unfortunately, at that point, a lot of people probably closed off access to them (out of fear of future flooding), instead of embracing the idea of USING them again.

Would there be a way to put them back in use today? I don't know.

We’ve all been doing “the computer” for a while. Today I was waiting for a gift to arrive for @micheleclamp, and I almost, almost clicked it just before catching myself!

It was kinda sorta relevant, wrong vendor but close, and I didn’t catch the handful of grammatical errors on the first read.

Even with images tuned off, they did a reasonable job of the html.
