Yesterday a Delta Airlines flight from Seattle to Salt Lake was delayed until a passenger got a notification on the Delta app saying that there was no possibility of making the connection to the second leg of the trip from Salt Lake to Albuquerque and advising the flier to cancel that flight.
The flier did, then was refused boarding the flight from Seattle to Salt Lake and told that in canceling the second leg of the trip, the entire booking had been canceled.

What showing up in multiple countries means is that it has some level of population ignition already and has already achieved international circulation prior to surveillance detection.

Which is not surprising because we have ramped down the surveillance by 90% and officially gone back to sleep. It's similar to what happened in wave 1.

The question now is will it
1. fizzle out
2. Drive a new wave that is mitigated due to low immunity escape
3. Drive a #Delta or #Omicron like new #variant explosion due to increased transmission and/or high immunity escape

The lab tests results are suggestive but not predictive.

I for one won't be betting they are right.

if history is any lesson, Brady will leave Delta shortly thereafter to raise this new joint venture on its own, as he enters into a long-term partnership with a younger airline

About the experiment evaluating #BA286 infectivity, the cell line HEK293T-hACE2 has no TMPRSS2 receptor.
If #Omicron has an altered usage of TMPRSS2, when compared with #delta, that may not be the case of #Pirola
Thus this result is incomplete and may not reflect the full potential of this #SARSCoV2 variant.

I think we'd best have a conversation about mask efficacy in the context of time-to-infection, viral load and other highly-speculative estimations that have been proffered over the course of the pandemic thus far.

@MatWright The subvariants of #Delta & #Omicron continue to spread across the world via 🚢✈ That constitutes a #Pandemic. While people mingle (unmasked) in large crowds, in poorly ventilated structures, the mutations will continue to multiply.
There is no point looking for the initial cause. The spread - & the inability to contain it - can be put down to the abysmal lack of education as to the risks; continued minimisation of the risks; media misinformation...and Governments' irresponsible -if not criminal - abandonment of due care of their citizens.
