The question that preoccupied me & many others over much of the past 8 yrs is how our #democracy became so susceptible to a would-be #strongman & #demagogue. The question that keeps me up at night now—w/increasing urgency as 2024 approaches—is whether we have done enough to rebuild our defenses or whether our democracy is still highly vulnerable to attack & subversion.

One reason to #vote against your own interests for some freaking #demagogue, could be that you're really really #scared.

Make no mistake. What the Muskrat had done in removing the blue checkmarks from notable figures is the "drain the swamp" tactic that Trump used to "appeal" to red state rabble. Create the illusion of an outsider status that the masses can live vicariously through. Except, like Trump, there is no plan other than hubris-fueled chaos and unfettered hate.

I believe that Elon is highly dangerous by mimicking this phony rhetoric and that the strategy will only exacerbate the end of Twitter. The question now is how many will stick with this tyrant and his tactics. I'm guessing the plurality is significantly lower than Trump's.
