This article examines the problem of inherited controlling shares leading profitable companies to be led by 'idiot heirs.'
It points out that "...asking investors to put eternal trust in corporate royalty is antithetical to the values of Americans."
Indeed.
What the article fails to recognize is how all intergenerational wealth transfer perpetuates this problem. Rich folks pass their stock ownership and their wealth to their children who then also have disproportionate control over public companies.
Furthermore, I would say our entire model of business ownership is un-American: why does a single individual get unilateral control over the cooperation of all workers based on showing up first or buying it from the person who did?

Wealth is a zero sum calculation, not in relation to quality of life, but in relation to political power. Increasing wealth inequality means increasing political inequality. Sure, if a rising tide lifts all boats, the material conditions of those in poverty might improve and we all might have relatively comfortable existences, but elites would make all the decisions. I would rather have political power dispersed more commensurate with the true contribution to general wealth. #DemocracyAtWork

it seems all or nothing thinking is humanity's greatest impediment. Everything is a balance. They are people who say capitalism is the only way. Some say government is the answer, while others say we should have no government at all. If we would adapt to capitalism checked by government checked by people with none being left behind. A working equal system would be doable except that people grab on to one thing and get stuck.

@ericbuijs this is unfortunately a reoccurring theme given how Corporations have an inordinate amount of power in our societies.

I'm a firm believer that if we do continue with #capitalism it has to include #democracyatwork and worker ownership/cooperatives.
