Progress is slow & stunted because politicians tell themselves & us that if they push too hard, too fast - we don’t actually want that. It’s too dangerous for equilibrium and democracy.
So they don’t push as much as they could because they want to be re-elected, and we just trundle along thinking fast & meaningful progress is impossible. We actually argue that point to those who may be more optimistic. WTAF. 🌍 🔥
