No #DemocracySausages but a very fast act of democracy committed

Heading out to commit an act of democracy, sadly no #DemocracySausages expected

@lilstevie @sortius Yeah good idea. My problem is I’m a sucker for #DemocracySausages. Even tastier than Bunnings. At the Fed election last year the local school had run out.l when I got there late morning so I got a pack of snags of the way home and made my own for the family. 🤣

@wasootch @melanieistefan the closest #polling place to me for all local, #NSW state and #AUS federal #elections is in the local public school's hall, and the wait really depends on one's timing.

Go early and there's no queue but also the school's #fundraiser food stalls haven't been set up yet.

Go later in the last hours of polling and there's no queue either but by then all the #DemocracySausages and lamingtons have been eaten.

There's usually a shorter queue all day at the library polling station that's just a few blocks further away but (because?) they don't have fundraising food stalls outside. So it's all about one's preference on the day for one's #voting experience.

Today I learned about #democracysausages Thanks @embilbie (learning a lot, actually, about voting from all the #aussies on Mastodon)

i grabbed a greens and labor HTV card each as a souvenir, but forgot to nab a group voting ticket booklet! aaaaaaaaaaaaa

Miss 7 and I have had to make our own #democracysausages for #vicvotes today.

Very disappointing.

But we’ve done our civic duty and will grab a beer and watch proceedings tonight. Expecting a slim majority to the Vic ALP & huge amount of messiness in the count, with indies and Greens picking up seats and LNP clawing some away but not enough to get over the line.

I also wouldn’t be surprised by an outright ALP majority.
