Today there was again a demonstration in #Helsinki against the racist #government of #Finland. This was the biggest so far - the police estimated that there were 11 000 people.

Now the National Museum of Finland wants the material, the signs etc., from the #demonstration in it's collections!

Hver dag fra den 8. til 11. august har 3F København stået foran Hereford Beefstouw på Axeltorv i København for at gøre opmærksom på, at restauranten har opsagt deres overenskomst. Arbejderen var med torsdag den 10.

– Her er der både dårlig mad og dårlige forhold, lød det fra én af de omkring 40 aktivister til de forbipasserende.

On 12. August 2023 there is a #demonstration at 14:00 at Dortmund Hauptbahnhof to demand justice for the murder of Mouhamed Lamine Dramé by the police in August 2022 and in opposition to all police violence.

The 16 year old Mouhamed Lamine Dramé, who had fled to Germany from Senegal, was in a mental crisis. The people of the youth facility where he was called the police out of concern that he might harm himself. Without warning, Mouhamed was sprayed with pepper spray, tasered, and less than a second later shot dead by police.

We were at the demo last November and made this video to share some impressions and strong speeches.

Lets fight for justice again this Saturday!

Today in Labor History August 4, 1792: Poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was born. He promoted freedom of speech, ending aristocratic and clerical privilege, and equal distribution of income and wealth. He was also a vegetarian, advocate for free love and an atheist, who wrote about the link between organized religion and social repression. His poems and political writings were admired by Marx, Gandhi and others. His poem The Mask of Anarchy (1819) was the first modern work to support nonviolent protest. It was recited by students at the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 and by protesters in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution of 2011. Shelley wrote The Mask of Anarchy following the Peterloo Massacre (8/16/1819), when the British cavalry charged into a crowd of around 60,000 people who had gathered to demand political representation, killing 13. He was married to, Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein.
