Born #OTD William De Morgan (1839-1917) tile maker and friend of William Morris. Designed and made this hauntingly beautiful tablet memorial to Sarah Smith, #Pantomime Artiste located at the Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice in Postman's Park. What’s your oldest math book? Mine is an 1842 first edition of “Differential and Integral Calculus” by Augustus De Morgan. He was one of Ada Lovelace’s teachers via correspondence.
