This should have been flowing with water last year, but it had been so dry in August it had been turned off. I’m sure that was not the case this year

Stone circle at Harthill Moor.
Called Nine Stones Close or (locally) the Grey Ladies, there were originally nine stones but five have been lost to time and only four remain.

Here are a few photos I took.

There’s evidence of volcanic activity here in the Peak District. Here’s some tufa from just a couple of miles away from where we live. Yeah, we know it’s not archaeological but we’re interested about lots of things!

Although now something of a cliche, the walk through Dovedale in the #Derbyshire #PeakDistrict is so beautiful, it deserves to be on the #walking list of all visitors to the area. Route details at tinyurl.com/53bhvadv

Today I did a 13 mile #walk through Miller's Dale, Water-cum-Jolly-Dale (stop sniggering, that's what it's called!), Cressbrook Dale, Monk's Dale.
It was a good work out because the route goes down and back up the steep valley sides of the Monsal Trail twice, but it was a lovely day!
#Derbyshire is looking very green at the moment, here are a few #photos I took.
