Am I excited about an upcoming event titled Jello Bowl ? YES it’s in July and in Utah #rollerderby #derbytoot several great matchups.

What I find exciting is seeing how it empowers teams to test out options and that includes being unsanctioned.
Questions for teams…. Has the mission and focus of your goals changed since 2020?
Did communication improve overall? Transparency?

I am SO EXCITED about skating with The Gender Ending Story again. A team for trans and gender diverse skaters, wherever we get together it's always super good fun, we laugh, we hit our friends, laugh some more.

I wish for everyone to be able to have these kind of affirming experiences. You deserve it.

Being listed as Inactive on the dues list ( available through wftda site) means NO REGIONAL Ranking until a seed bout is recorded. If being a wftda ranked team is important to your league make sure to reach out to wftda. *this has been a curtesy message*

Observation : Lots of sanctioned teams not bouting, several non sanctioned groups bouting tons. Leaving me to believe that being sanctioned is not a sigh of ability to bout on a regular basis.

So questions…
Why pay dues to be sanctioned if unable to bout?
Follow up : sanctioning is more about receiving 💰than connecting teams to potential opponents & functioning as a hub for groups to engage in competitive pathway. 🤔

It’s quite a mess but it’s damn interesting.
I will put together a list of questions by September 2023 in regards to growth rates, progression and my own curiosity.

I’m not exactly surprised that #rollerderby aka #derbyverse hasn’t come out in droves to push back against these drag bills. I didn’t see a ton of support from non trans parents when the anti trans healthcare bills started popping up. It felt like the overturn of roe brought out a few people to join in the fight for body autonomy * for white women*. #derbytoot much like feeling no need to push for universal healthcare. Despite how that would truly make our sport accessible and safer.

Btw I generally don’t list team/leagues that have ‘fighting’ , renegade and or ‘no rules’ . This is a personal decision i made for my maps and in the database. Although some banked track groups may have events with fighting, it’s certainly a question one should ask before joining #rollerderby #derbytoot

I have condensed the Wftda region into the CUSTARD. Flat track teams/leagues both sanctioned and unsanctioned including Recreational. If the info didn’t specify I listed it as Unsanctioned unless verified as WFTDA. A thank you to that connection. Teams with Asterisks are sanctioned for ranking in the 2023 seasons.
