The #DerryGirls series finale is beautiful. The music is perfect.

The Reunion episode of #DerryGirls is so good. The adults are great but the girls they got to play their younger selfs are amazing. They got the tone and mannerisms of the modern day girls (their daughters) so perfectly down.

#DerryGirls is a show I love. The Northern Ireland accent, the 90s and the characters are all great. The show makes me laugh.

Sister Michael (Sister George Michael) is the star of #DerryGirls Love how she answers the phone: you may speak.

#DerryGirls is one of the most successful comedies in years, and it deserves all the praise it gets.

However, I think that by not dubbing the show in different languages, they have missed a huge opportunity. Of course there are subtitles, but I know a lot of people who purposely avoid them. Adding dubs would've made this brilliant show more accessible for those who are "too lazy" to read texts. Also, I could have more people in my family to talk about this show.

Finally finished the final episode of the #DerryGirls. Loved everything about it. Script, acting, soundtrack and direction. Just cracker - all of it.

Brought back memories of night the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998. Travelled all day by train Norwich to Bournemouth and ate nothing but a cheese sandwich. Heard the news and went out to celebrate with my school mates. Ended the night over cleaning my parent’s bathroom...neat 90’s Flash liquid could strip the colour out of vinyl tiles.

Spent Saturday night time-travelling back to the 90’s via the C4 documentary #Paula which was the about the multidimensional and much hounded Paula Yates. For light relief we watched a couple of episodes of #DerryGirls afterwards.

There was so much wrong with that decade in terms of how women, people of colour and LGBTQ+ were treated, but there was also an optimism that we could break down barriers + lives could be improved. And then 911 happened. That day we lost our innocence and freedom.
