At least half the country — if not more — identifies as center left. That's a lot of people for DeSantis to "destroy." Republicans haven’t won the popular vote since 2004 for a reason. They can gerrymander themselves into power and install right-wing hack judges thanks to the Electoral College, but that doesn’t mean they’ve won any ideological argument.

Just a reminder for those put off by Ron DeSantis' recent atrocities that he was hating the environment long before any of that. HB 919 is almost two years old. In it, he prohibited any municipality from restricting the choices energy utilities make in what type of energy they produce. Prior to this giveaway to the natural gas industry, cities like Orlando and Tallahassee had announced plans for carbon neutrality.
