We could be in offices, climbing a meaningless ladder to nowhere - waiting for a promotion that will almost certainly be thwarted by a massive quarterly reorg... but we're not.

I don't want to work 9-5 all week for the privilege of spending my weekends at Home Depot.

I'd rather be out here, living simply and exploring with her, so I am.
