As impressed as I could be that the #fediverse is on its way to be owned by everyone, I still think that the main #designflaw is to give the user the technical decision where the data will be stored.

Users cannot see which other users a user follows unless they are on the same server or create pseudo accounts on the other servers.

A decentralized data store would be less friction and more usable for all non-tech users. There wouldn’t be anyone at #twitter when #mastodon would be similar to use

I got the #EmergencyAlert , stabbed at the phone screen to make the loud noise stop, and the message disappeared. I can't see how to find it again. So, because of the loud noise, I didn't get a chance to read the message itself. #DesignFlaw

My electrical tyre inflator has stopped blowing any air. Turns out the gear wheel on the motor has turned it's square section into a circle and so no longer grips the shaft. Time to wedge some metal strips into the gap and see if we can get turning again. #Repair #DesignFlaw

It's a really a shame that you cannot import/ export the toots from another profile or this there any workaround for this? It's even hard to promote #mastodon if you cannot even really move from instance to instance. Very frustrating! #unpopularopinion #designflaw 😞​

I bought a telephoto lens recently.

I found that optical quality appeared to be good...at least for indoor tests.

Then I took it outdoors, where temperatures are cool in the winter months. Image quality suffered...horribly.

In cold temperatures the lens appeared to be giving images with lots of astigmatism.

How's this for a #DesignFlaw ?

If you have a rechargeable mouse that says it will "blink red" when it needs charging, but continuously blinks in all colours of the rainbow, you never know when it will suddenly stop working. Surprises me every time.

Or how long it takes to fully charge (red light). It's currently off, which means I only see the charging light.

In it's defence, it's a generic wireless mouse I got for about £10. The button clicks are SO QUIET, it's amazing.

Y’all. I have a rental for a week (because fender-bender) and this is what the gears look like. yes. They are a knob. Right where the volume knob usually is and my design brain is screaming.

Looking at *dmesg* in an Ubuntu LXC, it exposes audit failures from cohosted LXC instances. That I would consider a security issue as you (the user of a specific LXC instance) may get knowledge of other instances and their issues. It could theoretically lead to you to be in possession of knowledge that could aid you in cracking the other VMs.
