In the final report of my latest design research for a cultural organisation I've just put it loud an clear: if you are really concerned about your users, you don't need this new product, because, as usual, your users' unsatisfaction has some deeper and more complex roots, that, no, cannot be address with another shiny digital product.

I'm on a second week of a service design course, and tbh this idea of design being the ultimate saviour of everything in life is in itself an arrogant assumption by designers that somehow need a lot of ego boost, because the sad truth is that the most of 'innovation design' or 'disruptive design' is just tinkering and aesthetic.

Trust the process of UX research.
It may not always be clear where it will lead you, but it will always lead you to valuable outcomes. Stay curious.

User research may become that undesired radically honest friend. However, as much as it will help prove if hypotheses are wrong, it will also provide insights to get them right.

I have been trying to find time to fill some gaps in the documentation of my work that relies on the Twitter API to function. These were mostly done in collaboration with Chris Rodley and were usually installed in galleries and public sights.

B.E.T.T.Y. (2014) is one such work.

It asks, "What happens when a chatbot draws their words from social media?"

I have revisited many times, and as the tone of Twitter, and it's user-base has changed over the years, so too has B.E.T.T.Y.'s tone. If the API goes dark tomorrow, then today is probably the last time I will get to interact with her
