This symbol, shown here above the door of 2 Clarendon Place, is one which appears on quite a few Glasgow buildings.

It's called a Cornucopia or Horn of Plenty, and it's a very ancient symbol dating back to Ancient Greece. It consists of a goat's horn overflowing with fruits, nuta or flowers. It is generally used to represent affluence or abundance.
