@vantablack I got a Bluetooth speaker and have been blaring #vantaradio (complete with swears and smoke weed every day) in the whole yard whilst #detailing the car - its a national holiday here in England so I've got this whole space to myself (some poshos were turning up in SUVs so their offspring can collect cars from the repair garage next door and looking on slightly shocked 😁 )

I recently got a new pressure washer (and managed to tap the water supply from the kitchen at my office), so at the weekend valeted the 2001Suzuki Ignis (purchased second hand as a pool car) as well as my Polo - more a mini valet than full #detail - I was running out of time due to darkness approaching and had to clay and polish the bonnet to remove gaffer tape residue (from an L-plate the previous owner had stuck there), but it looked better than before)

Maintenance wash of VW Polo before a long drive tomorrow to visit relatives for Chinese New Year - I only had a short window before it gets dark (and its cold out in the yard!) so used a rinseless wash product from Korea (CarPro ECH2O), and cheated slightly by only cleaning the faces and not the barrels of the alloys (waiting until longer days and better weather to do proper full details!) #cars #detailing

Had a great, relaxing car wash session today.
Cleaned only the outside, but had a chance to apply some sexy spray wax for some crazy gloss.

Tomorrow I'll be applying some trim and tire dressing, and some febreze on the inside. Gonna look good. #cardetailing #detailing

Quick little video about a bottle of "ceramic" spray.

This is a hydrophobic spray coating, and supposedly contains amorphous silica. I was curious if it was in nanoparticle form, aggregate, etc so I popped it under the AFM and SEM to investigate. 🔬

I was tired of the swirls and faded paint on my motorcycle, so I gave it a cut and polish and applied some ceramic coating to keep it shiny and black. It made quite a difference. #detailing #motorcycle #cb400

For once it didn't piss down this weekend, so I woke up earlier and did some car #detailing before it got too dark - cleaned alloy wheels (which were full of 3 weeks of road dust), used snowfoam and did full 2 bucket wash (rather than just using the rinseless stuff), dried and buffed bodywork with spray wax, reapplied nano ceramic sealant to alloys (this stuff is good, I don't need to use harsh chemicals when cleaning them) and hoovered interior...
