On the left, Prof. Salditt explains the setup and the measurement scheme. In the bottom part, left of the yellow knob, is the sample tower; slightly left from the centre, parts of the #detector (blue camera labelled “PCO”) are visible; towards the rear, a big evacuated flight tube help the #XRays to reach the second detector bench.

All these AI work detectors provide a feedback signal to train the next AI generation - making it increasingly hard to tell AI from non-AI work.
Such detectors wont work in the long run. Worse, the more open/useable/faster/accurate/cheaper they are, the better they are for AI training.
You just won't win this particular battle in this way.

Wij deden gisteren weer eens dit. Detectoren!
Het liefst slenteren we (hond, vriendin) úren over akkers op zoek naar fondsen. Het is een vrij nieuwe hobby sinds 2jr. Erg leuk om te doen. Muntjes uit 1731 treffen bijv.
Gisteren half uurtje over het strand gescharreld.
Alleen maar meuk. Maar bovenal weer errugh leuk!

I don’t often get excited about socks, but this pair by the @ATLASexperiment is a rare and joyful exception. The little white dots are particle bunches from the #LHC and there‘s a collision event on the back of the foot. Higgs to boot, so to speak.

A few years back I co-authored a #Whitepaper on doing #detection as #code.
This was a real pipeline we used at my old gig Soteria (though with more secret sauce added).
The biggest pieces are:
* Regression testing, or after I tune a #detector, does it still detect the intended malicious activity?
* Evasion testing, or if I apply common evasion techniques like rAnDOm CaSiNg, or adding a bunch of unnecessary escape characters
