It's been about a year. Today, I found time to analyze the problematic code, spotted the issue, fixed it, and was rewarded with removing the commit including its hideous extra space: mastodon.gamedev.place/@flashm

"Did [new thing] just kill [recent thing]?"

Sometimes, I really hate technology content marketing.

See this post from @dylanbeattie : mastodon.social/@dylanbeattie@

Actual Businesses: "actually we're mainly still on-premise, running on Windows Server 2003 and VBScript ASP, but our two-year plan to migrate everything into a cloud kicked off in 2015 and we're making steady progress."

A psychiatrist was called at late hours in the night. "Doctor", said the woman, "you got to do something about my husband!"

"What is it?"

"He's packing everything in the house! He's putting everything in boxes, and then he's putting all those boxes inside other boxes!"

"I'll be right there."

When hegets to the woman's house, he saw everything packed into cardboard boxes.

"Pretty nifty, huh?" said the husband. "I even assigned them barcodes and I have a catalog here where I can find just what i need."

The doctor took a look at the bathroom. "Even the toothbrushes?"

"Box 24-C."

"Okay, let's have a look at you. Say Ah?"

"Aaahaahhh".

A few more tests and the doctor packed his things. The husband smiled as he did.

"I found out what's wrong with your husband, ma'am."

"Yes?"

"It's a severe case of kubernitis."

Riffing on the meme - does anyone know the original source or cartoon author? I see the format sometimes referred to as "nailed it", but that applies to a number of setups.

A classic. I'd love to give attribution to the original creator but trying to look up the history is a bit difficult. Hand drawn versions appear to have existed pre-Internet; these 70s and 80s images apparently were the basis for the version which appeared in John Oakland's book Total Quality Management, first published in 1989. businessballs.com/amusement-st

More backstory there. Fascinating history.
