OK, hear me out. dR Community Server that I maintain on Discord since 2020: it's about people that once were or are still on #devRant, chatting live. And the communal shitposting is not strange to us!

I plan to run a Matrix bridge, once I figure out the better circumstances for it and ensure its reliability (no hard feelings, t2bot).

You won't believe me if I say there is quite a dev community ranting and publicizing stories, all the while getting that precious feedback, true contrasts and lessons. It is #devRant.com 😆 I love it!

I'm commenting there a lot, although no full-blown rants from myself - just small content and dR Community Server updates.

You might find that place to be a microblogging silo of sorts, since it's hinging on admins' hosting ability. Because of that and the fact I rediscovered Mastodon and other good places recently, I'm soon going to promote Fediverse in those quarters for increasing a so needed redundancy.

I chose #Envs.net, because of various circumstances that would make experience on #Matrix more convenient and not feel like it's deficient.

- masto.js docs ain't great
- Mastodon API returns preformated HTML for toot content 😅
- some toots have `inReplyToAccountId` key but `mentions` are empty so have to do extra request to get account info
- Replacing `:shortcode:` with images is so troublesome

Specifics include managing a perpetual space in #Matrix decentralised network that's ready for welcoming more #devRant users, also ensuring that identity isn't confused (it was successfully implemented on our Discord server, anyway). Don't forget rules.

🪅🎀 Extra pizzazz: #workshop planner, events, better profiles, software showcase. "Extra" means that features are heavily implied, but aren't needed for rolling out.

#dRCM (dR Community #Matrix) is a project that I was fostering for some year now. It's a way to gather people from #devRant in #decentralized network and let them share stuff without fear of poofing into thin air.

I couldn't do any better till the end of 2022 and only managed to make few graphical pieces. Seeing as it was inspired by my previous attempt, "dR Community Server" on #Discord, I want #dRCM to be a lot better and catchy, so I promise to dedicate my next year (or less) to roll this. 🤓
