Dedicating tomorrow morning or figuring out my future moves. Hav to figure out a way to make things happen. Going to need a plan of action and dedicate the time to make it happen. Cannot allow myself to get stuck in the corner that I am in right now for very long. #future #devslife
Going to take the morning tomorrow and really think about the future and where I see myself in it. Need to really think about my plan and what I can do to make things happen. Going to have to do some deep diving into what I am willing to dedicate my time to to make things happen. #future #devslife
Got through release 1.1 for work project with minimal issues. These 1.2 features are having some serious issues. Platform limitations are really crippling right now but I’m optimistic that we will work things out. Just have to take the time to dig in and find the spots to customize and make things work how we need it to. #servicenowdev #portaldev #devslife

After going through thousands of lines of code to refactor and pull in code from plug-in devs I pushed the changes in and it didn’t work. Troubleshoot, revert and try again in the morning. I think I figured out the issue (sneaky dependency change) but have to start fresh with it in the morning. Worst case I start over and refactor again. No huge deal. #devslife #servicenow #portaldev

I love starting my work day by opening new relic's dashboards... grafana... and seeing everything work smooth. #FeelsGood
No ops just dev ;D #devslife
Loved the start of today. Teams messages start going off about a possible bug and before they could even get the ticket in I had already fixed it and didn’t even have to talk to anyone. MAGIC!! Hope everyone is having a great week. #servicenow #portaldev #devslife

Absolutely love a day when I fix a bug in a matter of minutes and get to work on new features. Planning future features and getting to work on those is a boost to my mental health for sure. Fixing bugs just mentally drains me with all the testing against edge cases to ensure the bug fix doesn’t create new bugs. Just taxing mentally for me.

Company C wants a meeting where I have to detail a "tentative" workflow for those who'll manage a data structure I designed following a data management workflow they already provided.
Duh.
Have to love when you are tasked with creating a solution that has not been done before, and even the senior platform engineers laugh and say I don’t think it’s possible to do that when you ask for assistance. #impossibletasks #devslife
My new work resolution: Post at least once per week an example of how I royally ducked-up when softwaring around.
This is in a hope that it will give less experienced people on the team more confidence.

Thinking about it ... I don't remember having a job where the stuff I've "been hired to do" or even "told to do" was the most important or impactful things I contributed with 🤔
What about you?
It’s only Monday and I already want to close up shop and take the rest of the week off. Going to be an interesting week to say the least. #devslife
Going to be an interesting week next week as I begin the process of taking an OOB setup at work and creating custom Angular components of them to avoid future upgrade problems. Should help alleviate the need to compare diffs and instead look only at new functionality needed and adjust based off of that. Going to be a long process. #devslife #angular #servicenow

Word to any team leads out there. Never EVER switch development environments mid sprint. Also, if you are forced to do it, make sure your dev teams have time to test the new environment for issues before they are forced to use it and nothing works how it should. Putting extra work on your dev team to fix an environment that they didn’t set up while trying to complete work for the product on a deadline is ruthless and ridiculous. #devslife
This ends my Ted Talk.
Been a hectic sprint the last two weeks, changing dev environments mid sprint, data missing due to transform maps and ACL issues. Finally got it sorted and still able to close out all user stories for the sprint with a little time to spare. Definitely enjoying a drink tonight. Whole team put the work in this sprint to make things happen. #devslife
Whoever invented 2 week sprints for Agile and Scrum needs a swift kick in the nuts. Factor in all the meetings for refinement and planning and you effectively lose 3-4 days of the sprint when compiling the hours spent in meetings. 3 week sprints should be the norm. #devslife

Loving working with Material-UI. Simple setup, the documentation is pretty clear and thorough. Making this project build a little easier than hard coding everything from scratch. #devslife #javascript
