1/3 One reason why people with are not or lately is their ability to cope their by learning. But this may cause funny situations and they appear „weird“ to others especially to neurotypical persons. For example: A highfunctional autistic member of my Family had learned that all old people need a walking aid in public. However he was very sporty

Hyperfocusing on my makeup application yields significantly better results with the help of the ADHD meds.

I simultaneously feel like I've been cheated by not having access to these meds for this long, but also like I'm somehow betraying my Autistic & ADHD brain chemistry by taking them.

Such a weird experience, but there's been so much more since the formal diagnosis, both with and without medication.

Life's not easy.

I have a lot of due to the diagnosis by interacting with others who also got / .

My knowledge about is the hope I need in my life to move me forward.
knowledge is currently the only knowledge I value the most when it comes to and medical language stuff.

My self confidence though can always be improved and the more I learn about Neurotypes the better my self confidence will be.

So I better keep moving!

If you really think that using the word "" is , please watch this video:

youtu.be/eISuc8v7B1M

To summarize (poorly), the is beginning to recognize that the , as diagnoses, do those to whom they are applied more harm than good. Most will never see a , and they'll never be with . The people who are diagnosed with NPD are , and it's possible they need a second opinion.

But the ? It's calling from inside the house.

Because if you're still convinced that saying "" is ableist, then rather than shouting "ableist" at the top of your lungs to people who are (and in some cases present ) of people who engage in narcissistic , are the most likely to take your words seriously. They are the most likely to experience worse as a result of your disempowering them and silencing them.

Instead of survivors, try to consider what words may be used instead of narcissism. It's not correct to say that "narcissistic abuse" is the same as abuse. Narcissistic abuse may be a form of emotional abuse, but its insidiousness goes far beyond what most people who experience emotional abuse ever experience.

A lot of people who think of "narcissism" as an ableist term will eagerly call its users ableist without offering any alternative words that will allow them to speak about their specific type of suffering. So let Dr. do the work for you: Consider sharing the term " " or, in lieu of "narcissistic abuse," antagonistic abuse, with those who you might otherwise re- with your careless .

Because silencing the survivors of abuse, many of whom have from living with narcissistic (or antagonistic) persons, is the real ableism.

It was through meeting individuals that I got in a way that the field of medicine could never enlighten me.

has done its course in my life, it was only Neurodiversity that made make any sense at all to me.

Actually before I even heard that word "Neurodiversity" I met very individuals in the .

I met them. I had to determine myself if Autism was a real thing or not. and !

Personal encounters with many individuals fueled my in autism and as I met more and more I started to be able to identify neurotypes.
Everything starts with "is this person like me? Why or why not? In which ways is this person like me and in which ways is this person not like me? Does this person think like me or just happens they now have some similar interests but interests come and go right?".

When you think you are an .

"Person A reminded me about person S whom I met at that other autism encounter if I remember, hmm" and then "Person G also reminds me about person A".
!
!

When I got there was nothing really special about the aside from them finding that I belong to a .

The current though lacks the ability to tell what I am, which is bad! My unique is .

is about expanding and apparently there is about this yet.
Just and we don't even know who is out there with a of .

We in the are the to find them a solution and find us() a solution to . .

The Neurodiversity movement's stepping stone is neurotypes and the lack of knowledge in that area is , makes us weaker.

Hope escapes us last though.

I have hope and belief in that the Neurodiversity Movement is going to find a way, some of you out there will find a solution one day which we are all gonna enjoy.

I’m in the recently stage of having SO many random flashbacks to when I was a child and where I had an experience but didn’t know I was autistic. It’s like one by one…memories are changing. My whole life story is changing. There is a new My memories are now becoming something else..explained…where before it was just one weird moment after another. You would think this is a good thing and it is…but it’s also unsettling. It feels and

The hardest thing for me after I was formally as autistic was figuring out what kind of supports I could access and what a "reasonable" accommodation looked like. I remember wishing, as many people do, that I could simply see a few examples!

So today I want to share my student support document with you all! For context, I am a PhD student and so my accommodations are mostly written with that in mind, hence nothing about lectures or homework. I hope others can also chime in with any additional accommodations they receive!

Today I feel fortunate to have a dr who listened to me..actually a couple of drs..beginning with my general dr who sent the referral to have an done for me so quickly. I read so many..TOO MANY..personal stories about struggling to be and . Or being misdiagnosed. I completely understand the need for . With or without the “official” diagnosis..I knew without a doubt this was me. I was never so certain about anything in my life.

I hear a lot of people saying after being or self diagnosed..and telling or ..people say to them “but you don’t look autistic?” Or “you don’t act ?”I have yet to have ANYONE say this to me. 🧐 And that made me laugh last night because maybe everyone was all “there’s something different about Anne Marie..hmm..what is it..” this whole time and I’m over here thinking my to make myself “fit in” or “blend in” was working..when it wasn’t. 🤣

I'm 37 years old and I recently discovered I might have . Most women find out at a later age, oftentimes after they become mothers and life becomes too overwhelming.

If you've been wondering whether you might have ADHD, or struggle to get : a psychiatrist recommended this diagnostic interview to me, which has real-life examples instead of abstract concepts and it has been very helpful to me: divacenter.eu/DIVA.aspx

(The examples also make it easier to ask friends/family to confirm your diagnosis).
