What bothers me particularly about this deleted tweet by former but still sitting Labour MP Dianne Abbott is that opinion appears to be equally divided on its appropriateness.

On #DianneAbbott, accusations have been made and not substantiated here this afternoon:

1) That she made unacceptable comments about Ukraine;
2) That the #Corbyn mural thing - well - that was really left hanging there: no justification for raising it, and refusal to engage when the facts were presented (just a block)
3) That life for Jews in the party was bad under #Corbyn

These accusations need evidencing or it is just #DailyMail / #Starmer hit and run stuff. I am extremely tired of it.

And don't forget the PLP's well exposed hierarchy of racism either. Weirdly, also minimising anti-traveller hate, and Islamophobia.

It's the utter BS or the racists now targeting her which strikes me though., They do after all have a manifestly evident hierarchy of racism in the #LabourParty. It's been so well documented we do need to discuss it.

And the idea that those now screaming outrage at #DianneAbbott give the smallest shit about #Travellers would be hilarious. Except it isn't, somehow.

Being the victim of #racism restricts your definition of what racism is. As a Black person I can recognise the racism brown people might face, but find it hard to understand how white people - Jews, for example - can claim to be victims of racism. "But you're all white!" I think.

The correct thing to do is accept that it'll never make sense to me, but still try to listen to the victims.

This is why I can understand #DianneAbbott, and that's the mistake she has made.

#JohnMcTernan is right to contrast #DianneAbbott's apology with the pig-headed obstinacy and gracelessness of #DominicRaab, and also to point out that Abbott has suffered no end of #racism and #misogyny.

That said, Abbott has rarely been right about anything in politics, and is generally speaking useless. There is a hierarchy of prejudice in the #LabourParty, as there is throughout society as a whole. The problem is that Abbott is part of it.

One of my thoughts on the #DianneAbbott issue is that it just gave another opportunity for #bigots, #haters, and #zealots to spurn out their #racism and #sexism by calling out a black female person as racist.
