Nature - Structure of the human DICER–pre-miRNA complex in a dicing state - Nature

DICER is one of the fundamental enzymes in your body, responsible for processing RNA into different forms, often involved with RNA silencing.

While we know how double stranded RNAs are processed, how DICER processes microRNAs is poorly understood.

Now, Seoul National University scientists have identified how it utilizes the GYM motif for processing, expanding our fundamental understanding.
