Had my first DNF ("Did Not Finish") read of 2023 last night. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. Much loved by many, but I was really exasperated by it, and even a break then return didn't solve my problems. I found the main characters very unsympathetic, the game creation segments dragged (and I say this as a keen gamer and former programmer) and the communication gaps were so frustrating. Better DNF than carry on! #books #novels #reading #ComputerGames #fiction #DidNotFinish

Read my did-not-finish (i.e. scoreless) review of Don DeLillo's "White Noise," in which I approach the book for the first time since reading it at the age of 18, 36 years ago when the book first came out, and realize with a lot of dismay that it's much, much, much, much, MUCH worse than my teenaged nostalgic memories remembered it being. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/29739174

I started reading Catch-22 some weeks ago. I get that there is a lot of unpleasant things going on in the world, but I don't find a place for witty cynicism in my life. I'll keep my energy for the good fights.
In 2023, I'll dump books I don't want to read. Thank you Catch-22 for being the first!

The #Fedora update process looks pretty, compared to #Ubuntu, but the fact that I had to dig around to work out what to do is definitely a black mark against it.
#DidNotFinish is it?;*
And why isn't it set up to automatically check out-of-the-box?:*
Only a VM, so no real issue...
