Dieveniškes (lit. "Place of gods") inside the appendix of southeastern Lithuania, surrounded by Belarus.

Eerily quiet, thanks to the war, border closures and being very remote to begin with. Had to pass a checkpoint and got our car searched on the way out.

It's very beautiful and very quiet. Tourists have become scarce due to the checkpoints. The paths are overgrown with hardly a footstep visible. You half expect to meet some Dryads.
