visited a table top gaming & comic store for the first time and got a nice haul of trading card art :ms_exclamation_mark_red: found the dhelmise card i thought would be a longshot, too :ms_exclamation_exclamation:

This was one of my first playmat designs I finished for the digimon tcg to sell. It took a while to nail down the stained glass look and effect. But overall still really happy with this one. I might put this back up for limited time with the chaos mode I did.

This morning, I watched some gameplay for the upcoming Disney TCG Lorcana, and it seems to have more potential than I expected. I really like the win con of gaining points instead of taking life.
The only thing in the matches I didn't like was the draw power of the game. Nearly all the matches turned into top deck mode at some point for both players, but I guess it's a problem that'll be fixed pretty fast.
The most interesting part of the game seems to be resource management, which is a very interesting topic and one of the biggest strengths with modern TCGs in general.
I already loved the Memory Gauge in the Digimon TCG, which switches the turn to the opponent as soon as you pay more resources than you have at your disposal and your opponent starting the turn with the amount exceeding your "mana pool".
In Lorcana, you can play any card upside down as ink (mana), which you then tap like lands in Magic to cast your cards. It makes for some interesting decision-making because you have to sacrifice cards you normally want to play to be able to cast other cards.
I'm very curious to see the course of this game in the future.
