Been watching the project for a while and I think @obsidian is finally ready for me to put it to the test and try ditching Notion for a bit. I’ve never particularly loved having all my stuff locked in an app, but Notion was the tool that finally “just worked” the way my brain did. Let’s see how far I can push Obsidian+Zotero+my refreshening scripting skills

I treated myself to a new iPad and an Apple Pencil recently as I wanted a way to take notes / sketch app layouts digitally.

I have to say I’m converted. With a matte screen protector writing doesn’t feel too bad at all and being able to undo, resize and move notes, add images and annotate and all the other stuff is so great.

I did look at other options such as the Remarkable 2 eink tablet but I definitely think the iPad was the right choice.

What apps do you use to take digital notes and connect interesting stuff?

My choice is now #notion https://www.notion.so .

My notes tend to be top down and highly structured. I love to embed photos and drawings. And with Notion I can easily create structures. I am using the Android app as well as the website.

One of my projects is a roundtrip through Scotland and it is so cool to share my findings and get feedback from the family.

Any feedback from real life users? A tool or a toy?

Just caved and bought a ReMarkable paper tablet. I’m a chronic note taker with scribbles in many notebooks. Often struggle to find the important stuff. Here’s hoping.

It's 9:40PM and I'm too tired to continue reviewing my #SystemsBiology notes. But I'm quite excited because finally the "...and #NetworkAnalysis" part of the course has started!

By the way, during my breaks I often went on Mastodon to see what the community was up to and I have read tons of introductions. It's funny to me that you (experienced, qualified and accomplished) managed to write a synthetic and straight to the point introduction, while I (messy student with no experience at all and really nothing to say) wrote an entire assay like it was even interesting 😂 I don't have the gift of synthesis, but I'll try I promise!

I wonder if there are other students here...
