If you oppose chat control in general, stop providing an indirect list of conditions under which you'd find it acceptable. Eventually, all of your reasoning will be nuked with a simple "nothing is perfect".

Don't change that by "maintaining #preferences" on the existing account or subscription: No need to add links between your real identity and your fake one to somebody else's database.
First cancel or unsubscribe. Then create a new account, or subscribe, from scratch. If possible, using #TorBrowser and clicking "New Identity", in between.
