So far, my only major grizzle about Tuba is that notifications are on by default (a bit of Dark Pattern IMHO and not good for Digital Wellness). Even worse, I can't find any options in the Preferences for turning them off. I just turned off all notifications in my OS settings, problem avoided.

But for people who like notifications, and want to be selective about which apps can notify them, that's going to be a pain.

In light of the API changes from Reddit, I have deleted my #Reddit account. I mostly used it for reading tech news and was spending too much time on it anyway.

Instead, I’ve followed a few tech news sources here on Mastodon, added them to a list, and will use the #Tusker iOS app to read the feed.

@tusker has a wonderful feature to disable infinite scrolling, so I’ll be able to stop scrolling the feed more easily. My favourite features by far!

I'm noticing I've got into a bad habit of staying on here far too late at night. Long past the time when I can read and respond calmly and respectfully. A couple of wellness features that might help us resist this habit;

* stop showing new notifications during a curfew time set by the user (eg midnight until 8am)

* stop sending posts during that curfew time, and redirect them into a drafts queue, to be revaluated in the morning
