I started to working on a systemd to dinit converter for more smooth switch between systemd and dinit, Here's project: github.com/mobin-2008/systemd_

It's still WIP (missing a good guide for example) but worth a try. PRs and Issues are welcome 😁

I don't suppose anyone around here has tried ?

I've been using on my laptop which has been great. I'm about to install a new system though and can't decide whether to try something new or stick with what I know.

instead of arguing over whichever init system is better, just get rid of it. "init" is british and why would you want to make linux british? what the hell is wrong with you?

Just when you think you have all the init systems handled, found more, (available to test in live cd), with , now fully handled. , untested, but added in theory. added in theory, that's a 31 line C init system!

Fixed some weaknesses with handling as well, was failing to detect it as owner of /proc/1/comm 'init' value, using readlink to test now for dinit as well.

Refactored the init section too, to fit with current internal coding style.

Trying instead of as init system.

Liking it so far. dinit is a bit more user friendly than s6.

Not sure if there's a bug in s6, the kernel, or if it's a "feature", but with s6 I had a lot more wakeups per second, which is bad for the battery.
