Well, I've now come to the end of all my best (and least fiddly to repost) previous Jojo pics! As I've been posting them on here, it's occurred to me how funny it is that with my OTP, Kakhan, I'm almost constantly in Mega Fluff City, yet when I hop over to Diokak for a bit, it's ALLLL MISERY ALLLLL THE TIIIIIIIME 😈​🤣​

Generally I am a massive, MASSIVE sap and love the shit out of fluff, but when it comes to Diokak, fluff is a nope for me - I'm one of those goblins that likes it to be maximum 100% horrid 😂 In fact, what I want from it is to be the extreme flipside to the lighter, softer ships I enjoy cooing over. Specifically, it's gotta be an everlasting, nails-on-chalkboard-level agonising hell for my dear frogmouthed fave. It should be so painful, in fact, that he would much rather die than be in it. Perhaps he even actively seeks to die. Of course, however, his absurdly powerful tormentor is not going to just let that happen on his watch. Ever.

There's just something ever-so-intriguing about the whole theme of being trapped in screaming agony with no escape no matter what you do, whether physically or psychologically. There's also the specific way Kakyoin has his pride but also tendencies towards self-blame for his perceived 'weakness', and the way Dio seems inclined towards 'loving' in the unhealthiest, most toxic of ways. And of course, there's the whole wanting to recapture that delicious way That One Scene between the two in the anime made me shudder and sickened me to my stomach. ... ... ... Good!squick 😂

Diokak, my 'horror ship', my 'do-not-try-this-at-home ship'. It's been said before that sometimes a ship, rather than being straight up romance as we'd expect it, can consist of inflicting a character on another. That's what this is, for me. Sometimes you want the comfort, hope, and warmth of a ship where two people learn to overcome conflict and figure out how to be an excellent team of two, and sometimes... sometimes you just wanna watch the fictional world burn.
