Now I have #DireWolf set up, and it can decode my handheldās APRS beaconsā¦ but how do I get my 1992 back, what client software gives me messaging/routing/digipeating etc. ? Bonus points for open source/Mac/Linux :) Thanks!

I believe there's a recent software glitch at aprs.fi that has maybe not yet been appreciated.
Here's "my" station's i-Gated map for all of June-23, followed by "my" station's i-Gated map for the first 9 days of July-23.

I'm not saying there isn't more traffic/data. There is. But aprs.fi is giving our iGate an order of magnitude more credit than is due. Somebody broke something.

17 followers · 24 posts · Server mastodon.hams.social#LePotato, aka my "HamPotato", is now pulling double duty as a #digipeater and PC interface to my #icom IC7100, plus it's serving my public #gopher page.
The screen res issue was "fixed" with an HDMI dummy plug, and #wsjtx installed easily enough. On my main PC, #GridTracker receives data from WSJTX over the WIFI.
As it's currently configured, though, I need to log into the potato via vnc to switch between #DireWolf and WSJTX. The next step in the project will be automating this changeover.

I have a lot of ideas and can't spend tons of time on this, but I think it has potential. If anything, this little API should be something anyone can set up.

Essentially, I just used #Direwolf to trigger a mosfet that allows the FT-70's mic in to connect to the audio out pin from the Pi.
I don't know if this is 100% safe for all of the components involved, but it works!
If anyone care to check my #ElectricalEngineering work, I'll put up a circuit diagram shortly.

to having figured out, though I don't yet know if anyone's done it.
I have the #APRS iOS app called aprs.fi.
It can connect to a radio with a TNC. OK, so why can't it connect via my local WiFi network to the #Pat or #Direwolf or #Xastir that's running on my pi, and use THAT iGate to TX an APRS message over the VHF radio?
Also, same question, but on the RX side.

Is anybody use #Direwolf with a Kenwood TM-V71(A/E) ?
I configure Xastir to use direwolf through interface Networked AGWPE and it seems to work. I receive #APRS packet but I'm unable to send one. Direwolf indicate it "push" PTT but the rig does not switch to emission.
I use PG-5G/PG-5H cables, I see a /dev/ttyUSB0 and try many things in direwolf.conf
PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 RTS
PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 DTR
PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 RTS DTR
PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 RTS -DTR
but nothing works
(no rights problem on ttyUSB0)
