me: idk why Twitter is the most accessible social media platform for me, it just works for my brain
me, after spending several days trying out other platforms: ah, the character limit stops people from writing walls of text
and encourages using paragraph breaks mid sentence, for ⬆️ readability
that's probably at least 40% of why Twitter is so much more accessible for me

I have multiple friends who are barely surviving via mutual aid funds on Twitter
who find other social media platforms inaccessible
just because things like "learning how to use a new thing is really hard when your brain can't process new things" (eg from ME, or Long COVID)
so idk, I am not particularly reassured by posts telling folks that "everything will be ok" and "it just takes time to learn to use mastodon"
it just feels... condescending. invalidating.

#DisabledMigration Trying to move everything over here because I don't want to lose the disabled community I've found and connected to on the bird app
