Watching Goyer's *Foundation*, a most enticing tv show, I can't help feel that, despite the show's fantastic settings, grand-scale space opera and attractive acting, that the show's creator has taken the easy way out of Asimov's stories.

Instead of examining the intertwining mobius-strip politics of imperial fall, Goyer has focused on how the immense cycle of events created by Asimov affect only a few characters who appear to be continuing throughout the entire story arc.

This is not what Asimov wrote though it may be the only way Disney would accept the project. Isaac Asimov's stories are much, much grander than the few small glimpses we are being shown and I encourage everyone to go and read the actual trilogy of Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation.

Their written vista is so much more than the tv show, fascinating though it might be. Having said that, I am looking forward to the third series in 2025.
