西オーストラリア州も教師不足が、特に遠隔地校に広がる恐れ。そのせいで州政府は遠隔地校（48校）で教える教師とスタッフに優遇処置を与えることを発表。

レベルにより最高約160万円まで年俸に加算される。9年以上勤務のフルタイム教師は来年約1000万円の年俸＋この特別待遇。他州からの教師も来そうだな。

ただし、遠隔地ってマジで何もない地域だからね。それも内陸部が多いからほとんど砂漠。だから行きたい教師があまりいない。

それから遠隔地というものは何でも高い。ガソリンなどはパースから来るし。新聞も午後にならないと手に入らない。
ただし村の人々とは密な関係が築けるし、貯金もかなりできる。給料以外に住宅補助もでるからね。

でも西オーストラリア州の物価は日本よりはるかに高いのを忘れちゃだめよ。

OK, seriously though, it's pretty amazing just how productive we can be with all of the online meetings. At our house we've been helping to run distance education courses via the Ruhi Institute—helping participants develop community-building skills. There's at least one session every night, sometimes two.

Sure, it's a bit harder to connect when you're not there in person, but it just makes things so much easier and faster when you don't have to travel to and fro. #distanceeducation #education
