We’re humbled to have been nominated a third time for a #Ditmar Award! (Basically the local Australian equivalent of a Hugo, voted on by fans at the national sci-fi convention.)
We’re on the ballot for “Best Fan Publication in Any Medium”, alongside venerable Melbourne fanzine Ethel the Aardvark.
Voting is open now. The award will be announced at #Conflux in Canberra at the the end of the month.

The #Ditmar (an #Australian #sciencefiction national #award) short lists are out: https://conflux.org.au/blog/ They always contain Things that Must be Read. Make sure you scroll down to the Atheling (a related award, not actually a Ditmar). https://conflux.org.au/blog/ I now want everyone to #read Story Matrices and to Have Opinions! https://bookshop.org/a/1838/9781913387914

It's a year since I was given my Ditmar. It was in my handbag when I went to the hospital for a check on my infected bone. I'm almost over the cure for the bone.
I would like to win another Ditmar some day, one not awarded on Jewish New Year and one where I get to celebrate. Also, in my perfect world, more people would read the novel: The Year of the Fruit Cake. The pandemic caused a massive sales drop, which balanced the bone infection and the award I never had a ceremony for. #ditmar #award
