#diverticulitis is inflammation of part of the bowel. It's age related 🙄.
Good for your neighbours! I think you should book her into the coffee morning at the library. She would probably enjoy herself once she was there, although she'll probably tell you otherwise, just to be difficult! Plus, why should you get her books for her? OK, you might like going to charity shops, and her reading helps you, but is she manipulating you again? Something to think about. 🤔 🤗

So a week ago today I had emergency surgery due to diverticulitis in the small intestine.
While #diverticulitis is not uncommon it almost always occurs in the large intestine or colon where the body can auto-magically surround the problem area and prevent leakage/bursting. Not so in the small. If it pops, it's discharging directly into your abdomen.

Thanks to an amazing surgeon, after major unplanned abdominal surgery I literally just walked up the street to the neighbors, maybe 5-6 houses.

I'm not even taking advil.

Just mind boggling what good #quality #medicine can do. I have good employer #health #insurance, #PTO and am entirely able to cover this.

Why the #FUCK can't we get #UniversalHealthCare in the #US?

My wife has #Crohn's #Colitis AND #diverticulitis. So when she gets most of her flare-ups we aren't sure which is causing it.
Has been hospitalised a few times mainly with the Crohn's colitis but she's been fortunate not to require surgery!
CC requires a low fibre diet, but Diverticulitis requires high fibre.
We just manage!
I know it's not the best answer but it's all we can say!
